Google Fiber will move its uptown office to a nearly 6,000-square-foot space at Camp North End in 2023.

ATCO Properties & Management and Shorenstein Properties announced today the internet provider signed a 10-year lease for 5,884 square feet in the property's historic Gama Goat Building at 1801 N. Graham St. Google Fiber is currently housed at the Phillip Carey building, at 301 E. Seventh St., in uptown.

The build-to-suit space will serve as Google Fiber’s Charlotte office and community engagement center. Alliance Architecture is designing the space to highlight the building’s high ceilings, clearstory windows and timber trusses.

Jess George, Google Fiber head of government and community affairs' east region, said the company will move into the new space next summer.

"Google Fiber is excited to be part of this vibrant community which represents the innovative spirit of our city," she said.

Local tech firm Kingsmen Software is upgrading its office space with a move to Camp North End.

Kingsmen was founded in 2013 and has operated out of a 7,800-square-foot space in uptown, at 500 W. Fifth St., for the last seven years. Greg Hart, chief financial officer and founding partner, said the company began looking for a new office space earlier this year. After considering several options, it ultimately decided on Camp North End. Hart said the team wanted the new office to have the same collaborative, industrial feel as the current space.

Seemingly Overzealous, a dairy-free ice cream brand, will open its first brick-and-mortar location at Camp North End.

Garrett Tichy and Jessica Berresse, the couple behind this venture, met in 2020 and connected over a shared love of ice cream. Their first date included taste-testing an ice cream flight with flavors from different shops across Charlotte, as well as one Garrett created at home as part of a pandemic-era hobby. Kids' pop-up coming to Camp North End

Grow, the plant shop in Camp North End, is getting a "little sister" in the form of a children's pop-up store called "Fun. A kid's shop by Grow."

Why it matters: It's another example of a successful business owner expanding in Camp North End.

• Flashback to last week, when we reported that NoDa Company Canteen is getting its own brick-and-mortar, and back in February, HEX coffee announced it's expanding, Axios' Laura Barrero writes.

• "We're constantly restocking our children's merchandise at Grow," founder Jules Zanoni said in a press release.

Details: Fun will sell toys catered toward kids ages 2 to 12, including blocks, scooters, bikes and clothes.

• It'll be a 600-square-foot space with a similar vibe to the plant shop.

Location: 1824 Statesville Ave., Suite 109 in Camp North End's Raceway Building.

What's next: Its soft opening date is set for June, and it will operate through September.
